The Government of West Bengal has launched the West Bengal Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme to provide basic income support to female heads of families. Through this scheme, the West Bengal government is going to provide Rs 500 per month to general category families and Rs 1000 per month to SC/ST families of the state. This scheme will benefit about 1.6 crore families of West Bengal. This scheme has been launched keeping in mind the monthly average consumption expenditure of a household in the state which is Rs 5249. With the help of financial assistance provided through this scheme, 10% to 20% of the monthly expenditure of the beneficiary will be covered. , The benefit amount under this scheme will be deposited directly into the bank account of the beneficiaries.

WB Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme Rules and Guidlines

The guidelines and rules for the West Bengal Lakshmi Bhandar Yojana have been announced by the Government of West Bengal. Through this scheme, the government is going to provide a monthly allowance of Rs 500 to the poor families. The families who belong to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes will get a monthly allowance of Rs.1000. To get the benefit of the scheme, the eligibility and other criteria have been issued by the Department of Women and Child Development and Social Welfare on 30 July. This scheme will be implemented from September 1. It is worth noting that this scheme was part of the election manifesto of Trinamool Congress.

Under this scheme, all eligible female heads of the household will get basic income support. The financial benefit will be transferred directly to the bank account of the beneficiary. This scheme will benefit about 1.60 families of West Bengal.

Rules and Guidelines Of West Begal Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme

The amount of benefits under this scheme will be provided from September to the Applicants.
Beneficiaries can get free application forms from government camps organized across the state
Applicants can apply from 16 August to 15 September
All applicants must submit all the required documents along with the application form which includes Aadhar Card, Bank Account Passbook
Those families which have at least one tax paying member cannot apply under this scheme
General category women who have more than 2 hectares of land also cannot apply under this scheme.
The benefit amount will be directly credited to the bank account of the beneficiary
Beneficiary’s Aadhaar number should be linked to the bank account
Under this scheme, those women of West Bengal who are permanent residents and whose age is between 25 to 60 years can apply.
Women who are doing permanent jobs in private and government sector cannot avail the benefits of this scheme.
Casual workers can be also apply under this scheme.

The main objective of West Bengal Lakshmi Bhandar Yojana 2023 is to provide basic income aid to women heads of the family. Through this scheme, the female head of the family will be provided Rs 500 (general category) and Rs 1000 (SC and ST class). Through this financial assistance, citizens of West Bengal will be able to fund their daily activities. This scheme will make them self -reliant. The applicant should be a permanent citizen of the state of West Bengal.
All families of SC and ST categories can apply under this scheme
For general category, families who have at least one tax-payer member cannot apply under this scheme.
All those citizens of general category who have more than 2 hectares of land.

Bank Transfer to Begin Under Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme

The State Finance Department of West Bengal is going to start direct profit transfer from September 1 under Laxmi Bandar Yojana. All the women applying under this scheme will get monthly financial assistance which ranges from 500 to 1000 rupees in their bank accounts. The scheme was the election manifesto of the Trinmool Congress. All those women who do not have any government jobs and are in the age group between 25 years and 60 years will get the benefit of this scheme. As of August 31, there are about 1.1 crore applications that are obtained under the Lakshmi Bhandar Yojana.

It is expected that about 2 crore women will benefit from this scheme. The DBT facility will be rolled out from 1 September and the application is still under investigation. After submitting the your application form, the beneficiary will be provided with an acknowledgment slip.
After proper verification from Bank side , the money will be transferred to the beneficiary’s bank account. All the beneficiaries can check the amount from their banks. Banks will start working full -time from September 2.
Many new accounts are being opened due to Lakshmi Bhandar Yojana. Citizens can contact the bank from 10 am to 4 pm.

First of all you need to visit your bank with your passbook.
Now you have to go to the balance inquiry section
You need to provide your account number and show your passbook in the inquiry section of the web.
